Stay in your head… you’re dead.

I heard Tony Robbins say the phrase “stay in your head you’re dead” and it stuck with me. With negative thought processes and mental loops (something I’m no stranger with) you can poison your own mind, inflicting propaganda against your psyche repeatedly. One step to get out of this is to write, which helps to release some of the poison and think more clearly, as long as you aren’t using the writing as a way to perpetuate and spend more and more time feeding negative thoughts. The aim with the writing is to help you to detach and later read and understand how irrational your thoughts are.

Another consideration is the implication for positive thoughts. We don’t want these to remain “in our head”, we want to bring them to life by speaking them, writing them, sharing them, and acting on them. A private wish is less likely to be fulfilled than a public commitment. I am not impressed with my writing so far, but at least I am taking action by writing these short posts. I can be proud of myself for taking that step forward. And tomorrow I can take another step forward. Writing can become a habit and I can improve, edit and get to the point where I’m proud of what I have to say and believe it can actually help others.

  1. […] Tony Robbins says “stay in your head your dead”. I’ve spoken about it before. […]
