My dad loves handiwork and one of his mantras is how important it is to have “the right tool for the job”.
Many tools have a specific purpose they are uniquely designed for and perform well at. Others are multi tools with several functions that they may be good at.
Our phones are an interesting case. They are how we would be contacted or how we would contact others in case of an emergency. They are our flashlights. There are our primary form of entertainment, distraction and boredom avoidance. They have been compromised in that we constantly receive spam calls.
What exactly are our phones the right tool for? Can we and should we change the way we use them?
P.S. spam callers… stop
